Ramayana Recital

About the song: Bhavayami Raghuramam is a beautiful Carnatic composition that encapsulates the entire Ramayana epic in just a few verses. It was originally composed by Maharaja Swati Tirunal in the single raga, Saveri, and later expanded into a Ragamalikai by Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer.

Story of Makkam - Theyyam

Based on one of the Theyyam , which is prominent in Kerala.

It's a fusion of Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam and Contemporary dance with mix of emotions to portrait the characters.Theyyam, is a Sacred Dance of Kerala. It is a vibrant and ancient ritualistic art form found in the northern districts of Kerala, India. It involves intricate costumes, elaborate makeup, and a trance-like state.

The story we are depicting is about Kadangot Makkam.

Please approach this story with an open mind and enjoy it as a work of fiction. Kadangot Makkam, is a regional Hindu goddess worshiped in the North Malabar region in Kerala, India. Makkam is worshipped and performed as Theyyam form, known as Makkappothi or Makkavum makkalum (literally meaning Makkam and her children). According to the myths, Makkam and her two children were killed by her eleven brothers, and they attained divine status after their death.
